Window AC
A window AC is a self-contained, single-unit air conditioner that houses all components (compressor, condenser, evaporator) in one box, designed to be installed in a window or wall opening for localized, affordable cooling of small rooms, working by blowing cool air inside while expelling heat outdoors.
Split AC
A split AC (air conditioner) is a ductless cooling system with two main parts: an indoor unit that blows cool air into a room and an outdoor unit housing the noisy compressor and condenser to release heat, connected by refrigerant lines, making them quieter, more energy-efficient, and aesthetically better than window ACs, ideal for targeted cooling.
Cassette AC
A cassette AC is a type of ceiling-mounted air conditioner, part of a split system, that sits flush with the ceiling, leaving only a discreet grille visible for even, multi-directional airflow, making it popular for large commercial spaces and modern homes where wall space is limited. It draws air in, cools it, and distributes it horizontally in 2, 3, or 4 directions, providing uniform cooling without obstructing floor or wall space.
VRV and VRF AC
VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume) and VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) refer to the same advanced HVAC technology, with VRV being Daikin's trademarked name for its systems and VRF the generic industry term for systems from other manufacturers. These systems use a single outdoor unit to connect multiple indoor units, precisely controlling the refrigerant flow to each zone for individual temperature control, zoned comfort, and significant energy savings in large buildings.
